What is an exoskeleton?

An exoskeleton is a wearable support system designed to reduce physical strain by assisting the body’s natural movements. Unlike robotic devices, ergonomic exoskeletons are lightweight, passive structures that provide targeted support to key muscle groups, particularly the back, shoulders, and arms.

Stanley provides industry-leading exoskeleton solutions that integrate seamlessly into real-world environments, helping teams:

✔️ Reduce physical strain and fatigue
✔️ Improve posture and long-term comfort
✔️ Prevent musculoskeletal injuries
✔️ Enhance productivity and performance
✔️ Work safely without restricting movement

By reducing fatigue, improving posture and preventing musculoskeletal injuries, exoskeletons help workers perform physically demanding tasks more safely and comfortably.

ErgoScan AI app - Free ergonomic risk assessment tool

The Ergoscan AI app is a FREE ergonomic risk assessment tool that uses your phone’s camera and Artificial Intelligence [AI] to quickly assess posture and movement. It identifies high-risk positions in real time and generates a customised report to help businesses recognise and mitigate the risk of MSD injury.

The analysis of  specific workplace activities detects improper movements in the back, arms and neck. Your RULA score, the international benchmark in ergonomics is also given in the report.

By providing clear visibility of postural constraints, ErgoScan AI enables businesses to implement corrective action to reduce fatigue and lower the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Most importantly, it recommends the exoskeleton suit best suited to the task, ensuring every role is supported by the right solution.

What people say about our ergonomic safety tech

The feedback from our XPO colleagues using the exoskeletons during the pilot was hugely positive. Wearers reported significantly less fatigue and effort required in routine handling activities, which has supported the decision to expand the use and invest in the equipment for the benefit of our colleagues. Additionally, we found that the exoskeleton assists in forming good postural habits that will benefit the wearer even while not using the equipment.

Alan Fox Head of Health and Safety, XPO Logistics, UK and Ireland

Operation managers can obtain context rich information to get a better picture of all the resources in the plant and acquire a deeper feel for the real impact of daily operations of the workforce.

Alfonso Melón Nicolas Industrial organisation leader, +22 years of experience, Bridgestone

Where we normally needed three persons, now one person can do the job and deliver everything with good quality.

Ard van Klaveren Owner Van Klaveren Plant

When working with the SoftExo Hold exoskeleton, I no longer have back pain at the end of the shift. I no longer have back pain.

Clemens Ließ Employee at a logistics company

The support when lifting from a crouching position to standing, and the resulting easier way of working, is impressive!

Employees at ALDI

In the beginning, the exoskeleton was unfamiliar. In the meantime, I've noticed that I'm more aware of the lifting movements with the SoftExo.

Employees at COOP

When working with the SoftExo, I no longer have back pain at the end of the work shift.

Employees at HERMES

With the Laevo FLEX we can produce for longer with the same people. Tasks we could sustain for two hours only, we can now do for four hours per day.

Kick Spaargaren (Employee Van Klaveren Plant) Employee Van Klaveren Plant

An in-depth evaluation with wearables helped us to understand the impact of exoskeletons on our workers during real operations and plan a step-by-step rollout.

Luca Di Stefano Head of network devices, IoT and Robotics, e-distribuzione

A substantial advantage is that we are informed when the signals of our body change and can reflect on the situation.

Peter Gertischke Head of data and engineering, e.on

The Laevo FLEX is literally a life saver! The last years I could not to look to the future positively, but with the Laevo FLEX I am looking forward to my future again. I can keep working all day without pain or fatigue after work. With the Laevo FLEX I feel free. My free time is valuable again!
