Stanley at UK Construction Week 2023

Stanley is excited to return to UK Construction Week Birmingham this Autumn to showcase the latest developments in artificial intelligence [AI] wearable safety tech solutions that reduce workplace injury.

Manual handling injuries in the construction sector

Handling injuries are common on building sites with manual labour, awkward postures, repetitive arm and leg movements and existing injuries amplifying the risk. This type of injury is one of the top ten risks associated with working on a construction site.  It is estimated that 40,000 construction workers suffered a work-related injury relating to back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in 2021/22. Non-fatal injuries like these can seriously impact a worker’s ability to perform tasks, meaning time off work sick. For the employer, it means losing key workers to sickness and a reduction in productivity and efficiency.
